Board games to bring to the dorms?

Paul Maymi: Blah, I was looking forward to answering this, but the first answer pretty much covers it.I'll just give Apples to Apples a really big push. It's an epic game for groups of people, and you can even turn it into drinking game if that's your style. My 2nd choice is Balderdash, another one of my favourite group games....Show more

Donte Liversedge: I know that most places you can borrow them but I like to have my own copy of things =)

Maynard Reevers: Find out if you even need to bring games. At my school, you can check out games at the front desk of each dorm.

Donte Hamme: Time-intensive games like Monopoly usually don't work as well as party games. Games like Apples to Apples, Bananagrams, Jenga, Uno, Scattergories, Taboo, Cranium, and Balderdash -- games where it's really more about having fun and laughing and less about the competition and rules -- tend to work best. You should also consider bringing travel versions instead of big boxes of g! ames. With a game like Apples to Apples, for example, you could bring an extension pack instead of the whole game, or you can simply take the cards out of the big box and put them in a smaller container. If you Google "best party games," you should get a lot of good suggestions. You can also find some at http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1529184/t...Don't forget that most student lounges have lots of games and you can also usually borrow games from student activities offices. You should also get in touch with your roommate, if you'll have one, so that you don't both bring the same games....Show more
